She came, She didn't speak even a single word, however, She Conquered
Recently I joined an organisation, namely, Indus Health Plus in Delhi. This organisation provides preventive health checkup services, which has headquarter in Pune. Just after few weeks of joining I got an opportunity to attend a training session and employees meet in Pune and a beautiful city called Lavasa. I had attended some training session during my MBA in Delhi/NCR but those all were in small level. This was first major corporate get-together which I did attend.
On second day of our event we all were there in Lavasa to listen our top management and some other distinguished person. The event starts with an awesome presentation and speech by COO of company, which is followed by the speech of our director Ms. Kanchan Naikawadi. and after having done with all speeches, a musical gala night takes place. Now in first 4 hours of that event something has happened that forced me to write this blog. The last blog I wrote about a year ago when I met NDTV's prime time anchor Mr Ravish Kumar in Delhi.
Now let me explain what was that thing which made me to write this blog. And certainly that special thing was company's director Ms. Kanchan Naikawadi. Its all started when the event was just about to start. Ms. Kanchan Naikawadi enters. I thought she would enter and sit in front table which has had a 'reserved' tag. But nothing like that happened. She enters and stood up in the last of the room for the 15 minutes and then sat there in the last table of the row. This was just a beginning. Well, then she came on the stage and addressed the audience.
Now I am not here to give merit or demerit or to review her speech. I am here to let you know what else has happened there that impressed me more. When that gala night was on initial stage Ms Kanchan Naikawadi came in. since there were a lot of noise and disturbance in the last of the room that no one could have got a clear view of programs so again I thought she would make her way to first table to have a clear view of all those programs which were being performed by some Marathi speaking people. But astonishingly for the whole time she kept standing at the last of the room and enjoying the event. While the programs were going on She was smiling, She was laughing, She was clapping and applauding for the performers like a normal employee of the organisation.
I had worked for two more organization before and got many chance to see MD, VP and many other distinguished person but I did never see such simplicity and smiling face as shown by Ms Kanchan. You see, smiling and clapping by a woman is not a big thing but it becomes very big thing if you consider and compare it with Delhi's elite class women. Not only elite women but it also applicable for middle class women to a larger extent. They always see at you as you are the only person responsible for the all problems they are facing in their lives. But Yes, only time they smile at you is when they hit your car or bike and they know its their mistake.
Perhaps it was Ms Kanchan Naikawadi's vision that today Indus health plus has pioneered in preventive health checkup services. She did an admirable work and can inspire million others to do the same. But for that it is necessary to spread her voice to larger audience. Here our main stream media's role becomes significant. Why don't main stream media houses or News channels (Most of them are run & operated from Noida Film City which is only 2 km away from the place I am writing this blog) invite Ms Kanchan Naikawadi for health related issues & debates. Her vast knowledge in wellness and healthcare sector can help this country economically and socially. Why doesn't Barkha Dutt invites Ms Kanchan Naikawadi when she conducts debates on health related issues on NDTV.
Barkha Dutt needs to understand that her obsession with Narendra Modi or BJP is neither going to help her channel nor this country anyway. She needs to conduct debate on REAL issues with real panelists instead of paid panelists.
Not only Barkha Dutt but also some other anchor like CNN IBN's Rajdeep Saradesai should also understand the fact that for each and every debate the same panelists are not good. Panelists like Suhel Seth and Vinod Mehta can't do justice with all the topics from politics to healthcare. So whenever Mr Rajdeep does debate on healthcare or wellness issues he must invite people like Ms Kanchan Naikawadi and others who can contribute to debates with their real experience or expertise instead of those who have something to say on everything without real life experience.
Same thing also applies to CNN IBN's Sagarika Ghose. She needs to understand that her sleeveless blouses and pop lipstick is not going to enhance the quality of her debate and show. To increase the quality of show she needs some basic/real topic or issues and some professionals to talk about that. And surely Ms Kanchan will be the one of the best bet when it comes to invite a professional to talk in healthcare debates.
Are Times Now and Arnab Goswami also listening this ?? Well, Has Arnab Goswami ever listened to anybody. He only SPEAK not listens...at least his guests say so !!
At the end I can only say that its difficult to me or I must say I am not the right person to judge a woman like Ms Kanchan Naikawadi who is having more working experience than my age. Who today has reached at a place that millions of people can only dream about. Ma'am, you said during your address that all awards you did receive so far, you considers them as only materialistic thing. No ma'am, these are well deserved awards.
Its your greatness that today when people pay money to buy/get awards, you don't get affected by the fact that you have received so many prestigious awards and has focus on only vision that is providing a disease free life. I like your simplicity, your humble nature, the way you were smiling and cheering for performers in gala night as you are just a normal employee. Many time I heard a phrase that- He came, he spoke, he conquered. But today I will say- She came, She didn't speak even a single word, however, She Conquered. I don't know how long I will work for this esteemed organization but, indeed, You will have my respect and I will respect You till my last breath.
